About / editorial standard

Decision guidance before a sale or referral.

SellingCollectibles helps non-experts organize an inherited, mixed, or large collection, compare exit routes, and prepare the evidence a suitable specialist needs.

What we are—and are not

We provide educational decision support and structured triage. We do not buy collections, issue formal appraisals, authenticate objects, guarantee a value, or arrange private firearm transactions.

How guidance is produced

Guidance should separate verified facts from interpretation, name primary or specialist sources when a claim depends on them, state the review date, and explain important limits. High-stakes firearms and tax information is anchored to official sources and is not a substitute for qualified professional advice.

How compensation would affect future routing

No destination routing or introductions are active in the current prototype. If routing is activated later, a potential destination must first fit the category, value band, geography, timeline, service model, and available evidence. If SellingCollectibles may receive compensation for an introduction, that possibility must be disclosed before seller information is shared.

Corrections and updates

Material corrections should be documented and reviewed promptly. Time-sensitive fees, laws, platform policies, and market claims should be rechecked before publication or recommendation.

Editorial responsibility

Until a named external editor is appointed, the publisher is responsible for source selection, review dates, corrections, and the boundaries described on this page.
